How long is the course?
It is a one day course.

Who needs it?  The course is designed for everyone who has responsibility for retailing alcohol.

What am I going to learn?

· The roles, responsibilities and functions of licensing authorities
· The application process for a personal licence holder
· The role and legal responsibilities of the personal licence holder
· Penalties relating to failure to comply with the law
· The content and purpose of operating schedules
· The role and duties of the designated premises supervisor
· Unauthorized licensable activities
· Permitted temporary licensable activities
· Rights of entry to licensed premises
· Police powers
· The specific prohibitions for the sale of alcohol
· The strengths of alcoholic drinks
· The protection of children from harm
· The responsible retail sale of alcohol
 
Is there a test involved?
In order to attain the award, all candidates must take a 40 question multiple choice test (pass mark: 28/40)

Things you should know
The course, workbooks and exam paper are available in English only. Lunch is not included though we will have a break for 45 minutes so everyone can get out for a bit of fresh air and a bite to eat.
