Health & Safety Courses

• Duration: The time required varies by qualification level and your prior knowledge:
  

• Level 2 typically takes 1-2 days of study.

• Level 3 typically takes 3-4 days of study.

• Level 4 requires a more in-depth commitment, usually spread over several weeks or months, as it involves significant research and assignment work.

• Assessment: All courses are assessed remotely.
  

• Levels 2 and 3 are typically assessed via a multiple-choice examination taken online under remote invigilation with Highfield.

• Level 4 is assessed via a set of written assignments and/or a portfolio, which are submitted and marked by a Highfield-approved assessor.

You will need the following for remote learning and the online exam:

• A reliable Wi-Fi connection.

• A PC or Laptop with a functional front-facing camera and Google Chrome set as the default browser.

• A smartphone (Android or iPhone) to download a separate invigilation app, which is used to monitor your exam environment.

• A private, quiet room for your exam, as you must not have any external devices, notes, or unauthorized assistance.

• Disabled Software: For the exam, you must disable all assistive software, including language tools, spelling/grammar checkers, and AI chatbots (like ChatGPT).

• Level 2 (e.g., Highfield Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace): This is ideal for all employees and is often a mandatory induction. It covers basic legal requirements, hazard identification, and control measures relevant to the workplace.

• Level 3 (e.g., Highfield Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace): This is suitable for supervisors, managers, or team leaders who are responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety procedures within a team or department.

• Level 4 (e.g., Highfield Level 4 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace): This is designed for senior managers or those who manage the overall health and safety strategy for an organization. It provides an in-depth understanding necessary for creating policy, managing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance.
