1. Who should take the Level 2 Health & Safety course? This is the standard entry-level qualification for all employees in any industry. It is designed to ensure that every member of the team understands the importance of health and safety and how to keep themselves and others safe while at work.
2. Is this course legally required for my staff? Under the Health and Safety at Work Act, employers have a legal duty to provide health and safety training for their staff. This Level 2 Award is a nationally recognized way to meet that legal obligation and provide "due diligence" evidence for insurance and inspections.
3. What are the main topics covered? The training focuses on the most common workplace hazards, including:
-
Slips, trips, and falls.
-
Correct manual handling techniques.
-
Fire safety and emergency procedures.
-
Understanding safety signs and hazard labeling.
-
Reporting accidents and near-misses.
4. How does this differ from Level 3 Health & Safety?
-
Level 2 is for all staff to understand their own safety and follow procedures.
-
Level 3 is for supervisors and managers who need to create those procedures and conduct risk assessments. If you are an employee with no management responsibilities, Level 2 is the correct course for you.
5. Is the certificate recognized by the EHO? Yes. This is a Highfield Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF). It is a regulated, accredited qualification that is recognized by Environmental Health Officers and local authorities across the UK.
6. Can this be taken by people working in any industry? Yes. While some of our other courses are food-specific, the principles of Health & Safety in this course apply to offices, retail, warehouses, and hospitality environments alike.
7. Can I book this for a group of new starters? Absolutely. We offer flexible business packages for onboarding new staff. You can buy online licenses in bulk or we can deliver a group session via virtual learning or on-site. Contact theteam@hygienesue.co.uk for a group quote.
